Jacob R. “Jack” Bruni, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Born on July 30, 1942, to Ralph (“Boots”) and Julia Bruni, Jack grew up in Norristown’s East End and attended Holy Savior Grade School beginning in 1948. He was a proud graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School, Class of 1960.
In 1962, Jack enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably and was later awarded an Honorable Discharge. Following his military service, he earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Montgomery County Community College in 1976.
On April 20, 1968, Jack married the love of his life, Margaret (“Peggy”) Gaynor. Together they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. That same year, he began his long and distinguished career with the East Norriton Police Department, proudly serving the community until his retirement in 1993.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret (“Peggy”) Bruni, and their three sons: John (Kirsten), Bob (Tina), and Mike (Caroline). He was a cherished grandfather to six grandchildren—Abigail, Joseph, Jacob, Cody, Quinn, and Riley. He was an adored sibling to one brother: James (Angela) and three sisters: Marlene (John), Charlotte (Dennis), and Janet (Richard).
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday January 28, 2026 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at the Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St. Norristown, PA 19401. Mass will follow the calling time at 11:00AM at the church. Burial will take place in the Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jake to the Coatesville VA Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.
